Orlando, Florida -- January 2005 -- DLI.tools Inc. announced its entry into the document management arena today by unveiling its latest business application named DocLogic (Note: DocLogic was rebranded as Docova in January 2008). Created using the award winning DLI.tools thingFactory and DLI.Uploader, DocLogic is taking the way that organizations manage information in documents and files to a new level.
"In our consulting and software development practices we saw the need to create a document management solution because our clients struggled with existing ones," says John Ryan, Sales and Support. "Some current solutions miss the mark on many fronts. From functionality to easy of use, DocLogic provides a compelling array of features packaged in a flexible intuitive interface. Coupled with our DLI.Uploader and thingFactory APIs, we are able to deliver a high-impact, high-value solution."
Features of the new document management solution include file edit-in-place, document life cycles, ad-hoc workflow, parallel and serial file review-consolidation-approval, customizable views and document types, full audit logging, task management, check-in/check-out, file locking, search and filter capabilities, eWormholes, eWaxSeal and a Windows Explorer like navigation.
A tremendous benefit of DocLogic is its ability to "drive" work and information. While you work in one part of the system, you are dynamically informed about other actions happening in the system that pertain to you. For example, if you are reviewing a budget document in the Financial library, you will see if someone has just given you access to a folder in the Human Resources library or assigned you as the Approver of a new document.
DocLogic is also armed with a Windows client component that allows users to manage their tasks and seamlessly send new or checked-out files back into the system.
The initial offering of DocLogic is focused on organizations that use IBM Lotus Domino technology. DocLogic for WebSphere Portal and IBM Workplace will be released in the second quarter of this year offering integration and migration options within the IBM family of software.
DLI.tools Inc. are participating in the IBM Lotusphere 2005 Conference Product Showcase and can be found at booth #706.
