Just a short note.

When I was running the 8.5 client I did an upgrade to 8.51.  I was hoping the Designer client would load faster with the new release.  For some reason, following the upgrade when Notes restarted,  the client bogged down with the notes2.exe task taking all of the cpu.  I figured it was just something related to my client setup.  I went back to 8.5 and the problem remained...so I  went back to R 7. When the fixpack 2 became available I repeated the process with the same result.  In fact, the fixpack would not run, which turned out to be an issue with the NSD task running. When I killed the task the fixpack loaded fine.

I checked the forums and noticed that several others have reported the exact same condition, however, the threads never seemed to end off with a definitive resolution. I tried the usual, killing the cache, workspace, bookmarks...etc.  Some said it was related to IE 8 trusted site, but I was running IE 7 at the time.  

I ended up doing a fresh install of 8.51 and it went in fine.  

If anyone identified the root cause and a fix please let me know.
