Goodbye 2009

January 2, 2010 by Gary Walsh

Definitely been a challenging year.  Many companies that had projects scheduled and budgets approved made the decision to hold off this year. Still, Docova found its way into several companies around the word.  Some that come to mind are an Aerospace company in Northern Ireland,  a high performance tire manufacturer in the Netherlands,  a utility and a food services company in Ontario, an insurance company, packaging company, food services company...to name a few.  The benefit of going global is that the market is enormous, and even a  recession on the scale of what we have been living with spawns opportunity as companies try to trim costs and improve efficiencies.

The last quarter of 2009 has been busy. We released our Outlook connector, allowing you to run Outlook/Exchange and Terminal server.   We released the network scan module, allowing you to interface with network scanners, auto process documents and communicate with Docova from from a variety of sources including smartphones.   Docova 2.6.2 has gone through final testing and will be ready to download this week. It incorporates many of the suggestions our customers have provided over the past year.

Lots of interesting things coming for 2010. We are working on a version of Docova that will allow you to choose the backend data store.  That provides options for companies not running Domino, and for those that are changing.  We have a Blackberry interface that should be out in the first quarter.

If you are attending Lotusphere 2010,  come over to booth 337.

We are entering 2010 with the biggest pipeline we have every had. 2009 was good.  2010 is going to be awesome.

I can hardly wait!
